British Gas issues with smart meter
Good morning. When we moved into our property three years ago we got smart meters installed. The gas meter has never worked despite multiple engineers coming out. The issue I am having is that I want to switch companies but when I go it still says we are on a prepayment meter. I have spoken to BG about this numerous time but get no help. The last time was Oct last year and they said this would be resolved by the end of 2023. They are absolutely useless when I email or call. Does anyone have any advice? I know they were forced to change something by the end of 2023

Have you raised a formal complaint and then taken it to the ombudsman?1

Not yet. I made a complaint which they said was resolved because the fix would be done by the end of last year0
