When some card transactions are in block capitals and others are in normal lowercase English?

The text is presumably passed through without adjustment from the merchant, so will depend on their chosen styling?1

Right, my last bank had everything lowercase so I thought they were trying to tell me something with the capitals, but I guess not.0
