Need to change name and address on provisional driving licence - but haven't done so for 5 years

7 years ago I got my provisional driving licence for ID purposes only. Then, 2 years later, I changed my first name by deed poll, but just never changed my driving licence. I also changed address the following year, but again, left my driving licence.

It's been gathering dust in a draw; I've never used it for anything. Now, however, I am wanting to take up driving lessons and need to update my licence. I didn't know there was a fine for not updating details. 

Will I get a fine for only just updating my details now, 5 years later?

You might get a fine if you were driving, got stopped, and your licence details were years out of date.

But not for just changing them late.

You won't get fined, but you do need to update it.

From my experience of the DVLA, I wouldn't ask them to change both name and address at the same time. Things can go wrong.

Change the address first, so that the new licence gets to you, then change the name. You can do this online at https://www.gov.uk/change-address-driving-licence

Then change the name. This can't be done online, and they need some supporting document. See https://www.gov.uk/change-name-driving-licence
