Wiggle Bikes Section 75

With the unfortunate news of Wiggle Chain Reaction looking like it will be fully closed down, does anybody know how Section 75 protection works? Nukeproof, Vitus, Ragley bikes are owned by Wiggle/CRC so will likely go bust too.

The bikes are sold with multiple year warranties. How does the warranty work if I already own a Vitus bike purchased using a credit card with Section 75 protection? Would the credit card company assist with the remained of my warranty term (which would be impossible if the bike manufacturer and retailer goes bust, therefore resulting in a refund or partial refund or some other solution)?

Is the warranty insurer backed? In which case it would survive the insolvency.

Was the warranty transferable? Many aren't and only benefit the original buyer. Assuming it isn't transferable then you have suffered no loss at the point so wouldn't have a claim to make. Potentially there could be a claim in the future if you have a fault that the warranty terms would have covered etc but it could also come down to if its the retailer or manufacturer that offered the warranty.

    Maybe, maybe not. All depends.

So make sure you download a copy of warranty T/C while you can, as any claim, this will be asked for.
