Ovo two year fix

I don't fancy a smart meter so Octopus is out of the running for me. Ovo knew what they were doing when they set the exit charges so high.1

If you do go to Octopus the tariffs to get on are Tracker for gas and probably Agile for electric but you would have to download Octopus Compare to check usage to see if Agile or Tracker is best. .Smart meters needed , preferably Octopus s EDMI meters .It won t be long until you wipe out the very high rip off fix that OVO ( SSE ) have manacled you with .Taking off the £50 from Octopus you have £140 to get back .Find out average unit rates on Tracker or Agile and do the sums. Bear in mind you can collect your own £50 referrals when you recommend Octopus to friends ..I ve collected 6 in the 15 months I ve been with Octopus with two paid this week ,one being the smart meter fitter who changed my dumb meters to smarts a few weeks ago...he could see how good the rates are ! EDIT..there's no point in switching to Octopus unless you are going to go on Tracker or Agile as you will lose out on the standing charges which are low with Ovo. recent standing charges rise April 1 st for me are very high on electric at 67 .7 p gas 31 padamcarvell said:I’m not clever enough to work it wether to jump ship to octopus or stay with ovo

Octopus quotes are for flexible and 12m fixed based on my 12 month usage
£160 flexible
£140 fixed
im currently paying £162 with ovo and in credit0 -
Ignore all quotes and work out from your annual usage (should be shown on every bill) what each tariff would cost you, using the prices per kWh and adding the standing charge x 365adamcarvell said:Octopus quotes are for flexible and 12m fixed based on my 12 month usage

Are those rates better worth taking the hit on the exit fees0
-
can you go on the svr with ovo without exit fees, enquire about that1
-
I can go onto svr ovo simply but the rates look higher than my fix atm0
-
then go onto that so that has no exit fees, then move onto the tariff you want without any exit feesadamcarvell said:I can go onto svr ovo simply but the rates look higher than my fix atm
but make sure your not going to be hit on exit fees, get it in writing off them
***update*** looking on ovo website there is a £30 exit per fuel to 1 of there other tariffsIf you're on a fixed plan
You must be in your ‘renewal window’ (which starts 53 days before the end of your contract) to change, or you may incur exit fees. Once renewed, the new plan will start when your current one ends.
Change from fixed to fixed:
Change from Better Energy to 2 Year Fixed Energy anytime – no exit fees.
Change from 2 Year Fixed Energy to Better Energy – £30 exit fee on each fuel if you change before the renewal window.
Change from fixed to variable:
Change from Better Energy to Simpler Energy – £30 exit fee on each fuel if you change before the renewal window.
Change from 2 Year Fixed to Simpler Energy – £30 exit fee on each fuel if you change before the renewal window.
so that reduces your exit fees to £600
