Competition Terms and Conditions 

The Promoter is set out at the end of these Terms and Conditions.

WHO CAN ENTER

This competition is open, subject to any other qualifications in these terms and conditions, to all residents of the United Kingdom (excluding Northern Ireland) who are aged 18 years or over with a valid email address, except for employees of the Promoter, its associated companies, agents, third parties or anyone else professionally connected with this competition. Proof of age may be required.

By submitting a competition entry, you are agreeing to be bound by these terms and conditions. The instructions provided at the point of entry form part of the terms and conditions of this competition. In the event of a conflict, these terms and conditions take precedence. 

To enter the prize draw you must have an active MyWaitrose membership.

No purchase necessary. There is no charge to submit an entry via the website at https://www.waitrose.com/ecom/content/competitions.

DEADLINE FOR ENTRIES

Entries must be received between 00:01 on 14th February 2024 and 23:59 on 12th March 2024 (the “Closing Date”). Entries received after the Closing Date will not be accepted.

HOW TO ENTER

To enter, simply go to https://www.waitrose.com/ecom/content/competitions, follow the competition instructions at the top of the page and submit your details and other required information using the online form provided.

There is a limit of one entry per person. Multiple entries submitted directly or with the use of any automated systems will not be entered into the draw.

No responsibility will be accepted for entries that are lost, delayed, mislaid or damaged in transit, regardless of the cause, including, for example, as a result of any equipment failure, technical malfunction, systems, network, server, computer hardware or software failure of any kind. 

Those entries not in accordance with the rules will be void and will entitle the Promoter to exclude the entry from the competition; any entry containing false, incomplete or misleading information will be void and will entitle the Promoter to exclude the entry from the competition. 

THE PRIZE

 The prize is a VIP experience for a winner and their guest at Swan Lake with the Royal Opera House, and a year’s subscription to Royal Opera House Stream. 

There are 5 prizes available to be won. The prize is provided by the Royal Opera House. Prize for winner plus guest includes: 

Two tickets (within the top three price bands) for the Saturday 11th May 2024 performance of Swan Lake at the Royal Opera House, commencing at 7pm.

A year’s online subscription to Royal Opera House Stream (worth £99.99). 

Two glasses of champagne to be enjoyed at the Swan Lake performance, as well as a show programme.

If the prize winner is unable to attend the Swan Lake performance on 11th May, the prize shall be fully redeemable against two tickets to an opera or ballet performed at the Royal Opera House until 31st December 2024, strictly subject to availability at the time of the prize redemption

Accessibility needs: should the winner have accessibility needs, the Box Office will do their best to accommodate requirements and adjust prize elements accordingly. More information can be found here: https://www.roh.org.uk/visit/accessibility. 

The specific prize Ts&Cs are as below. 

General terms and conditions: Prize valid for the winner and one companion only. Prize winner must both be residents of the UK, Channel Islands, Isle of Man or Republic of Ireland and must be aged 18 years or over, companion of prize winner must be 5 years or older. Prize cannot be changed or transferred to any other person. No cash or credit alternatives are available. Subject to availability and blackout dates apply. The ticket element of the prize is valid for 11th May 2024, or until 31st December 2024 if the winner is unable to make the selected date. The winner may be required to participate in reasonable publicity on behalf of the Royal Opera House and the Promoter. Prize winner must supply all personal details on behalf of themselves and their companion which are required for any prize element. Any failure to do so will mean that Royal Opera House are unable to provide the prize and the winner shall be deemed to have forfeited its right to such prize. All personal data received by the Royal Opera House will be processed in accordance with our privacy policy, available here: Privacy (roh.org.uk)

Performance terms and conditions: Tickets are subject to the Royal Opera House’s ticketing terms and conditions found here.

ROH Stream Subscription terms and conditions: Prize will give the user one free year of Royal Opera House Stream (RRP £99.99.) Upon contacting Royal Opera House, winners will receive an email with instructions on how to create an Royal Opera House account and their prize will be added manually to this account. Any travel expenses, or any other expenses in the general use of and enjoyment of the prize, that the winners or their guests incur are the sole responsibility of the winners or their guests.

Prizes are subject to availability. They are non-transferable, non-refundable and, unless stated, there are no cash alternatives. In the event that the prize is out of stock or if circumstances beyond the Promoter’s control make it necessary to do so, the Promoter reserves the right to substitute another item, in its sole discretion, of equal or higher value. 

WINNER SELECTION

All valid and, if applicable, correct entries received by the Closing Date will be entered into a prize draw, and the winners will be picked at random.  

The winner’s details (surname and county only) will be available for one month after the Closing Date by sending a request to the Promoter by at Waitrose Limited, CRM & Loyalty Team, Wallace House, Oldbury, Southern Industrial Area, Bracknell, RG12 8TQ, enclosing a stamped self-addressed envelope, or alternatively by emailing customerserviceteam@waitrose.co.uk.

WINNER NOTIFICATION

Winners will be notified by email, or phone call as soon as practicable after the prize draw, using the contact details provided with the competition entry. The winners will be required to respond within 30 days of notification (unless otherwise stated) confirming their acceptance of the prize. In the event winners do not respond to communications within this period or if any prize is declined, the Promoter reserves the right to disqualify that winner and draw another winner. 

 

Please allow 30 days from the date of the winner’s address verification for delivery of the prize.

LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

The Promoter and its associated agencies, companies and distributors will not be liable for any loss (including, without limitation, indirect, special or consequential loss or loss of profits), expense or damage which is suffered or sustained (whether or not arising from any person’s negligence) in connection with this competition or accepting or using the prize, except for any liability which cannot be excluded by law (including liability for fraud or death or personal injury arising from negligence) in which case that liability is limited to the minimum allowable by law. Your statutory rights are not affected.

If you have opted-in to receive further information or marketing from any of the Promoter’s agents or suppliers involved in the administration of this competition, you understand and accept that the relevant third party will be solely responsible for any processing of your personal data for these purposes, that such processing will be governed by terms of that third party’s privacy policy and that the Promoter accepts no responsibility or liability in association with any such data processing for these purposes.  

GENERAL

If there is any reason to believe that there has been a breach of these terms and conditions or if the Promoter believes that your conduct may be unlawful or otherwise bring the competition into disrepute, the Promoter may, at its sole discretion, reserve the right to make your entry void and will entitle the Promoter to exclude you from participating in the competition.

The decision of the Promoter regarding any aspect of the competition is final and binding and no correspondence will be entered into.

The Promoter reserves the right to suspend, cancel, or amend the prize competition where it becomes necessary to do so, with no liability to any entrants or third parties.

This competition and all issues arising out of it shall be governed in accordance with English Law and are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.
