New laptop recommendations

Need to purchase a new laptop for general use, some word processing, iTunes music and video.  No need for anything involving the latest gaming. 

Any recommendations on what to took at in the region of £500?

This Dell should easily do what you describe and is a good spec for the money which at £349 is well under your budget. You can increase some specs if you wished and still be in budget.

Unless you need (or want) the latest processor etc I would be looking at a decent refurbished laptop from a reputable supplier. Dell Outlet is a good place to start but there are other companies to look at as well.
