First time switcher

I have just received £175 for switching! I wanted to keep my main joint account so just opened an account with chase...so easy. Opened a second account and put a couple DD in. Lloyds switch came up applied and within 6 days money in and the chase account still has a day to move across. I am now in process of doing same with NatWest.
That one didn't have any direct debit requirements for the switch, so just added a chase account again to swap...I will let you know how it goes.

  • Just a word of warning, whilst switching is a very nice way of getting money for very little effort it's probably best to avoid using the same bank for too many donor accounts as it can sometimes lead to you getting lifetime bans (it did in my case), which can deprive you of future switching offers as well as other perks. If you use several different banks for your donor accounts you should be ok though.

I have completed the second with Natwest, no DD and put in £1250. Thought it may take 60 days as states deposit money, log on app within 60 days and 7 days they will deposit bonus. I must applied on the 15th, switch completed on 23rd and £200 paid on 26th. (I did use a different account this time) so that was a winner

Congrats. The free switching money can get kind of addictive! Make sure you keep notes about each switch you do. One day you'll run out of banks and then have to wait for the offers to come around again and they usually have caveats like "you can't have received a bonus since 2020" or similar so it will pay to know what bonuses you have had in the past.

Last time NatWest, RBS and Ulster had offers some of us managed to get bonuses from all three even though their terms said you couldn't, so you might want to consider trying RBS next. No guarantees it will work this time though.

Well, hubby also decided to do a bank switch (well 2 lol) first one should complete by Friday for NW and the other...well thought all going through, had letter from Lloyds with banking app codes ect. Logged on and then the next day get a txt saying switch cant complete as details incorrect. After a frustrating evening try to contact the number they said to call, which seamed to have no options for Lloyds or Chase only Halifax or RBS and then switch team was closed.
So managed to call today and just spoken to a lovely lady who has double checked everything and i must of inputted an incorrect digit, so she has amended and hopefully should complete on 13th. She was very helpful so very pleased with Lloyds service already
