Morning All
Quick one from me, I've been faffing about for too long this morning!
Wet and blustery again but not too cold. Realised this morning I haven't had the heating on since Saturday, just the fire.
Work unusually quiet but as we know that could change at any time!
Hope your DD and the little one had a good night at home dp1.
Hugs to anyone in need.
Take care. XX10 -
Morning all from a very wet and grey part of the west coast. I'd call it grim but am saving that for later.Yesterday I took away my black bag of rubbish and did a little shopping. After that stayed indoors doing 'things'. DW filled and turned on. Carrots, leeks and onions chopped for chicken dish which cooked away, then I chopped and roasted red peppers in a separate dish - once again lovely smells in the house. I'm still fiddling with my spreadsheets and money making lots of changes. I also had a telephone conversation with one of my GPs about my mobility - she explained that any referral to orthopeadics needs to come from my physio so she'll speak to him. After nearly a year of exercises without any real improvement I need it investigated. First step taken. This morning I've been putting away lots of things upstairs in readiness for the cleaner coming this afternoon. All those items which are taken out, used and then left out because they'll be needed again in a couple of days. Now they're all away. I'll put away the clean dishes after my first coffee. I'm not untidy by nature, probably simply a tad lazy!My fingers are crossed for all our poorlies feeling better and those that are sad have a better day.10

Good morning everyone
Dp1 so glad to hear that little one is going home and your Dd can hopefully get some rest.
Nanny hope your appointment tomorrow goes well.
I am off to the bank today to sort out some probate issues. I never knew that there was so much to deal with after a bereavement at a time when everything is difficult.
The weather is awful this morning, very wet and grey ugh!
Best wishes to the poorlies, the sad and worried
Take care xx12 -
Morning all & what a wet horrible one it is too. Loads of water coming down the brook that turns into a raging river at this time of year. The dog walk was short this morning, she tried to hide when I got the lead outWell done on no heating Camelot!Gers, yes DH was referred to his consultant for his hip/knee by a physio he was seeing. I try to be tidy-ish but with 2 messy males in the house it can be difficult, I'm sure they just don't see it!My bus trip to see my old neighbour was a bit long drawn out. My bus down to town was fine, then the next bus was so full. There were 2 people with prams, and a man who had been sat in 1 of the disabled places & with an assistance dog had to stand to fit the prams in so he wasn't happy & I saw his point. The prams seem so big these days, I used to take the boys on the bus with a mc claren buggy I usually folded up , not that robust but much more portable for public transport, mind you I'm talking 40 years ago & yesterdays babies looked very snug in their lovely prams. The bus also stopped at every stop. Anyway, got there in the end and she was so pleased to see me, we had a good old natter, and I was glad to see her before her surgery early next month.Today should be a bit more relaxing, my oldest friend will pick me up to go out for lunch, hope it's not too busy , it's half term here.We had various items of fish from the freezer for tea, those long lost single items - mine was salmon and a bit freezer burnt but I cut those bits off and passed on to my canine friend who was quite happy to help! Today I've taken out some chicken breast with s/p seasoning on.Right better get on, take care everyone x:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. Morning everyone.
Quite dull here this morning but the wind has dropped again so that's good. It was late afternoon before DD and little one get home, they were glad to be back - DD was looking forward to a bath and her comfy big bed. I expect I'll see them today at some point - I said to DD to drop little one off if she needs to go for shopping.
I spent a pleasant day yesterday, just pootling around and getting some odd jobs done. I had a good tidy of little ones toys and sorted some outgrown books and wooden toys to pass on to a little boy we know. She'll notice as soon as she comes in the door!
I had a nice long chat with eldest DD in Germany while I ate my tea last night - she has a new intern to look after, I think she's hard work!
Can anyone answer a question for me? In the Easter holidays, I'm going to London for a few days with DD and little one. I have 2 visitor Oyster cards, both with a small amount of money on - one will have last been used maybes 2/3 years ago and the other one maybes 8 years ago. I think they're ok still to use and just ned topped up? And we can use them on a boat?
Well I'd better get moving - I'll go down to mam and dads for a cuppa this morning.
Hope everyone has a good day x10 -
Hi everyone,
Don't talk to me about tidy. Living with two under fives and their parents who are just as bad means I rarely see a tidy house. Mind you, looking back, I was just the same and the house was constant chaos.
Talking of which, Sort your life out was back last night. The bloke on it is a friend of a friend of Laura's, poor man, the two little girls were lovely. It is all shown as a surprise reveal but they make such big changes that I'm sure they must discuss it with the people first. Swap my bedroom with the kids, lose a bedroom altogether, put my office in the living room - no problem.
We're still at the spa, we'll leave after lunch. I've got a pedicure booked as well.
Have a good day.11 -
Dp1 I think the oyster card will be ok. Alternatively most people use debit cards now, although children probably need an oyster.10

Morning Everyone and thank you for starting us off nmlc.
It's very wet here and the forecast is for rain all day. I am going to a friend's house in the village for a coffee this morning, so it looks like I'll get wet!!
Have a good day everyone. x8 -
Morning! It's raining but I don't mind, I did most of the green bin stuff yesterday, hopefully it'll stop this afternoon and I can start pruning the bay tree. I did a lot of gardening, moving compost about, mixing it with stuff, throwing it on the front garden and planting out various things I had squirreled away. Another couple of weeks of that and I might have a tidy back garden. Most importantly though, the cats are once again happy to use the giant litter tray being as I raked up all the poo....there was a lot. Today I'm out for lunch with a friend and wander round an outlet, I don't want anything but hopefully I can resist if we go in a kitchen shop. Falafel came out really well, I read a tip to put them through a grinder instaed of a whizzy thing and ...I recommend, five stars for that approach, and it gave me a chance to use the kmix attachment I bought to one day make sausages, so win win. Other than that, nowt else for today. Table is still messy btw...Gers, good luck with that...all this stuff keeps changing about appointments how and when, its confusing to navigate stuff sometimes , ok, all the time, for me anyway...Your kitchen smels lovely too virtually, obviously. And I laughed at grim saving it for later. Redcross, I think it's a ploy, you have to deal with so much stuff there's no time to grieve until the initial sharpness has worn off...Roay, glad your neighbour visit was good, poor bloke on the bus. dp1, good ot hear she's home again! Maybe your dd can catch up on sleep now..snoozer, i love that show, I will watch with interest and tell people, that's a friend fo a friend of a friend! Izzy, if I had a boss like your I'd be hard pressed to stop moaning so odn't worry, you don't do it much and it is justified...I did laugh at break his neck too nanny, hope you had a better night last night, borrow the sleeping stick if necessary. fingers crossed for tomorrow..do nowt today and cwtches. iris ,like my friend said, we won't melt ...more's th pity, I'd like some of my areas to melt...Take care all today!Shampoo? No thanks, I'll have real poo...9
