New Boiler but radiators are not heating up

  • Right so just an update on what’s happened:

After following Viessman advice and reducing the max CH output % down to 35%, I was able to close down the rads that I usually had closed prior to the boiler upgrade and the remaining rads remained hot.

it’s worth noting that there is still some cycling, so although the rads get hot. Once flow temp is reached, the boiler cuts off, the rads will get cooler until the boiler kicks in again to make them hot. As opposed to just maintaining the flame and flow temperature to keep the rad temps constant.

Ultimately, I’m much more comfortable now due to the reduced cycling until I can get my plumber in to do the rebalance. I hope it means that I’m limiting the wear-and-tear on the boiler until they manage to call back.

I’ve been concerned that my boiler might be taking a ‘battering’ whilst it’s still brand new!

I’ve still not got a date for the plumber but once they come to rebalance, I’ll provide an update

Try dialing back the max output to 30% and see if that helps with the short cycling.
Screwfix have both the Tado and Wiser (check that you get the OT module with the kit) for £100 at the moment.

Good shout. Set to 30% until plumber comes to rebalance. Thanks for all your help

will monitor after that and once all rads give a similar temperature, I’ll begin looking at OT options to assist further.
