House built 2016, No overhead lines or poles on estate. Bought house 2019 and subscribed to Plusnet fibre 36Mbps. How can I tell if we have FTTC or FTTP installed?

If you have a landline phone does that connect to the same socket as your broadband router ?
Post a picture and you'll get a quicker answer.0 -

Installed at your house or available to your house? If you've got a box (called an ONT (Optical Network Terminal) in your house then you have FTTP installed. Looks like this

If you want to know if FTTP is available then ask Plusnet, or stick your postcode into an online checker like the MSE one https://www.moneysavingexpert.com/compare-broadband-deals/2 -
As you are with PlusNet with a phone line since 2019 then FTTC as they do not offer a digital voice service.bryanb said:

That MSE checker appears to be out of date. It doesn't show the fibre options to my address other than Virgin.flaneurs_lobster said:

Not sure about being out of date but the MSE tool doesn't claim to show whole of market, just the major players and selected others. There are often local suppliers that might not be included.chrisw said:

Use the OpenReach availability checker https://www.openreach.com/broadband-network/fibre-availability

Would that checker include the likes of (eg) CityFibre or others installing their own infrastructure? Does such a universal checker exist?Use the OpenReach availability checker https://www.openreach.com/broadband-network/fibre-availability0 -
Thanks for all the help. More questions come to mind so I’ll post separatelyThis is an open forum, anyone can post and I just did !0
