How and how much financial support to give our children through university and beyond

@strawb_shortcake yours definitely curbs spending better than mine.My boy tells me his two best mates there tend to run out of food money by the weekend and he cooks for them otherwise they'd stay hungry (very dramatic!) and one of them has gone quite bad into overdraft. Mine hasn't, but only thanks to me still giving him full allwance as orginally agreed upon, and earning from work here and there. I tell him to recalculate the allowance he needs, reducing the dependency.... yet he says "give me some more time to build up more saving" :-).I've tried but they don't think much further about managing money at the moment, and yes indeed it will be much harder when it's after university, applying for a job, lots of costs and uncertainties, whilst no student loan then.... I try not to think about that stage yet. Step by step.Good luck with yours during the last few weeks of their degree and after0
