Hi. Thanks for all your replies. It is purely a domestic usage. The house is large and very well insulated. There are also a large number of solar panels and batteries. I think I will contact some energy companies directly and go from there. Regards Patrick
Batteries & solar panels should help keep usage down.

Is there a heated swimming pool or hot tub running 24/7?

Day rate 118208kwh night rate 49808kwh

    Is that right way round?
Why are you not charging batteries overnight?

Have you overlooked the decimal point on the display on the meter on the wall?

That’s an average of 460 kWh a day!!  Must be costing £40000+ a year!  How on earth do you use that much electricity everyday in a domestic setting?!
Especially in a "large and well insulated" house.
Heat management must be a nightmare if you're dumping ~20kW into the building continuously.

Agree. Needs further clarification from the OP.

Is there a decimal place missing and are the day and night readings transposed?
  • Oh goodness, I only skimmed the numbers to start with and thought they were a tenth of what they actually are.  Wow.  No judgement, simply also curious as to how that's possible.

    Hi

The last year I used a total of 168016 kwh. Day rate 118208kwh night rate 49808kwh. I am now looking for a new deal. Looking at usual comparison sites does not seem to work due to the high usage. Can anyone point me in the right direction to gain some quotes.

    Thanks in advance
To be clear you are saying you are spending circa £3500 a month on energy?

Let's clarify that first as it seems just 18 months ago all you had was £1000 for a cheap battery solution and a vauxhall combi van

Something doesn't add up so perhaps you can add some more details before people spend lots of time on this thread?

Mmm, interesting. Maybe those kWh figures are missing a decimal point somewhere.
