Wowcher Holiday - Fighting for Refund

I did wonder that as well - especially to Europe. I don't think I've ever seen more than about £35 -£40 each way for 23kg, less for 20 or 15 kg and I tend to use budget airlines like easyjet, Logan air and in the past things like Norwegian and Monarch - I have priced up Wizz air and Jet 2 but not used them and they seemed to be inline with what I pay.user1977 said:Which airline charges you £200 to take a bag?
It would be a shame to lose a holiday for the sake of a bag, even though I always prefer a hold bag I think I would bite the bullet and buy a soft holdall and make do just for a few days,I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. In my head it was a bag each way - £50 for 2 bags each way (£200 in total) seems more realistic. If that’s the case, then one way to reduce costs is to just have a single bag.soolin said:

I do like my luggage and hate to run out of fresh clothes on a break, but even my OH and I would struggle to find enough necessities to require 2 cases for 4 days,RefluentBeans said:

Maybe, but not sure why a couple spending 5 days in Poland would need more than one bag in the hold.RefluentBeans said:

I use a squashy faux-leather bag with various pockets. You can easily stuff it under an airline (or train) seat and you'd be surprised how much you can get in it if you pack carefully.

To me this sounds like an unfair T&C, as £200 to check in a luggage bag is VERY steep! I'm quite sure it would be deemed as unfair to have excessive charges only visible once you had redeemed the voucher.Nurselayer said:Firstly, thank you for all your comments so far.
Secondly, the provider wasn't Travelodeal, my partner could only find out the provider by redeeming the voucher
Thirdly, whilst we were allowed hand luggage it had to fit under the seat in front
Fourthly, the additional cost of luggage was £200, which when the trip was supposed to cost £300 is a sizeable additional fee, and one that make this unaffordable for us.
Finally, it's easy to say read the small print, but she literally couldn't see any of the details UNTIL she'd redeemed the voucher, so thank you to those of you who have tried to offer practical help and to the others, why not try being a bit kinder, and less judgey? My partner is really not an idiot, she just didn't expect to be told she'd have to pay an extra £200 for luggage, nor did she expect only to find this out once she'd redeemed the voucher.
I would get back onto Wowcher and insist on "un-redeeming" the voucher. Unfortunately you'll then have a £300 Wowcher voucher to spend on something else with Wowcher, as ultimately that's what you have bought - a Wowcher Voucher. That's how they win against the card companies as you are buying a voucher which they do supply, albeit you can now read the many cases of people who can't purchase what they wanted.
Or just wear lots of layers and stuff some clean knickers and socks in your pockets! It's only a few days! Buy cheap Primark ones and leave them once you've worn them.Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0
