Laptop no longer finding our wireless network

Baffled what's happened. Got a desktop set up connected to our Netgear DG834G and also have a laptop which connects wirelessly. The laptop is the only named device in the Trusted Wireless Station list. For some reason this afternoon we can no longer find our wireless connection. Others in the local area are coming up, but not our own. Our SSID is broadcast so we can usually see it if there is some minor problem. We've not been updating anything or making any changes.
Have rebooted the router several times and the laptop. Have also tried Norton Goback on the laptop to take us back 2 days ago when it was all fine.
Anybody got any ideas (I'm technically challenged so simple advice would be really appreciated).

Perhaps the router has the wireless option turned off? Can you confirm it is turned on? Do any other computers connect to the same wireless access point?0
