    Dan.

Your filling as best you can does not give a smooth finish to lay LVT on

The slope is unimportant smoothness is

Self levelling compound will give you that with little cost or effort

You need to think carefully before you lay anything

Looks like this can be used over Thermoplastic tiles:

Not sure I'd want to put any SLC over plastic tiles.
I've used Mapie Ultraplan with good results, although it was over clean concrete. Did a 2-3mm pour, so it can go on quite thin as long as the substrate is primed with something like BAL acrylic.

Have been reading a few online posts on similar jobs and there's mixed opinions about screeding over old tiles.
Some take them up and others leave in place. Either way, a couple of coats of diluted SBR over them or the bitumen if removed, would be needed I think.
I did remove a few over the floor crack and could continue and brush on SBR as I go.
The tiles seemed to bonded down well though with only a couple slightly loose. Not sure if leaving them affects house value but they're staying in the adjacent living room.
    Fitting carpet here soon.

I'm not sure what other options there are.
I have the glue down flooring now and have laid some of it loosely.
It may be ok just straight onto the tiles but as mentioned, the hallway gets light in and will show imperfections.

Is laying SLC a skilled job? Have seen a couple of vids. Looks like a few tools might be needed, i.e., spiked one to get rid of bubbles.

I managed to do a couple of small areas (about 2.4m x 1.5m each) - Just used an old plastering trowel to move the stuff around to get even coverage, and then left to settle. No real skill or fancy tools required.

Used that Arditex once in a garage, just used the back of a garden rake to move it around. Easy enough to clean rake in a bucket of water.

Not easy to buy and delivery costs are expensive. One stockist is £60 to send.
The Mapei one is more readily available and should be ok if I prime first with SBR.
