Plastic Roof Tiles on Conservatory - Pros and Cons

We are thinking of a replacement lean too conservatory - ours is 22 years old - windows blowing, roof starting to show its age etc ?
it is small (3 metres by 3 metres)
We are looking at a plastic tiled roof to make it useable in winter - at the moment - condensation forms on the polycarbonate roof in the cold weather
Are there any downsides to a tiled roof that we have not thought about ?
Cost is around £18k with double glazed argon filled glass - full height glass

We tiled my daughter's conservatory with the plastic roof tiles and it is far better now than when it had the polycarbonate sheeting. It keeps heat in much better in winter and the glare of the sun out / excess heat in the summer.
It was also insulated at the same time then plastered the ceiling to finish it off.
    Well worth doing.

Any sold roof will affect the amount of light getting into the room/s the conservatory opens on to.  How much of a difference it will make will depend to a degree on the orientation of the building.  My neighbour had a tinted polycarbonate roof on their conservatory whereas we had a clear glass pitched roof on ours.  We replaced our roof with a lightweight solid and the light in our living room was still better than in our neighbours house.  Our conservatory is certainly much more usable than when it had the full glass roof, although it does have underfloor heating so was usable for most of the year.

Ours faces north east so it's pretty cold in winter

@MouldyOldDough ours is North West facing so similar although we get some sun in the afternoon rather than morning.  The solid roof has certainly reduced the temperature range in summer and winter.

I expected a rise in winter temp though - I thought that was part of the idea of having insulated tiles rather than a thin sheet of polycarbonate ??

OK we had our old conservatory replaced with a new one, complete with solid (tiled roof - 12 " insulation) and it was such a good move, should have had it done years ago - the whole room is now useable all year round - all day - it doesn't roast in summer and stays warm until late into the evening.
    Strongly recommended.....
