Morning All
Dry out for now but more rain due later, yesterday was a washout with rain all day.
The funeral went ok, lovely service with the crematorium full to bursting, many having to stand. Glad I went back to work but only did what I had to, my concentration had gone and my nose was running like a tap with this annoying cold.
Friday again, it has been a short week with Monday and Tuesday off, hopefully it will be a calm day.
Hope you're feeling better today Nanny, take it easy.
Glad you will be going to the group SO.
Izzy, is that woman completely off her rocker? Thank goodness you only have a couple of weeks to go.
What a lovely thing to do TA.
I would have thought your bulbs would have shown themselves by now Ruby, can you have a peek?
I've been awake since 3.30 and got up at 5, haven't really achieved anything in that time!
Take care. XX10 -
Morning allHere's another one who was up very early to heavy rain but apparently it's going to be dry for the rest of the day. Izzy, as my old nan would have said, your boss has got more front than Brighton! Where does she get these ideas that you'll not be employed by her anymore but will be expected to jump and attend whenever she snaps her fingers!Off food shopping later and then back home to sort out what bits and bobs and clothes to pack for our holiday next Saturday. I need plenty of time to plan etc!Have a good day everyone x9

Morning folks.Yesterday was very rainy, sometimes piddling down and other times a fine mist over everything. I went to my pool session which I thoroughly enjoyed though the water was a tad on the cool side. There's a core of women and two men who are regulars. On the way home I called in at the butcher for some eggs and liver. I really wanted belly pork but there still wasn't any, the butcher told me that he's been struggling to get any pork for weeks. Ah well, I bought a pork chop instead, it's to put into red cabbage so it'll do.I did a full load of white washing which is festooned on the airer and railings. All very satisfying.Today I was supposed to have a hair cut and colour however my hairdresser isn't well so she cancelled it. I'm secretly glad as it's a terrible day for driving down the peninsula. It's been rearranged for two weeks time, I'll be really shaggy by then. 😀 Now I'm going up to Oban and will call in to see some friends on the way back. There's a planned electricity outage for this morning so it's best to be out.@Izzy - I'm still laughing at the sheer nerve of your soon to be ex-boss. Outstanding.I hope that everyone is doing well.10

Morning all
The day got away with me yesterday and I didn’t post.More heavy rain last night to add to the saturated fields and flooded waterways.Izzy - your boss is hilarious without knowing it and whilst I’m sure you are keen to finish, we’ll all miss the anecdotes! 😉
Off in the campervan for an overnighter in Shropshire and poke around some antique shops as well as a walk with B-dog - will be a nice break.
have a good end of the week everyone

Morning folks. It's fine is the best I can say. Otherwise it's dull and grey. But at least we are still in double figures. Someone must have let the Sandman out last night as I slept better for a change.
I am going out for lunch today with DD and the 2 youngest. It's a restaurant that has recently moved into the centre of town, and has always got excellent reviews, both before and after the move, so we are hoping it lives up to promise. It's for no special reason other than we have been wanting to try it for ages. So half term seemed a good time.
I have decided I need a course in freezer management! I went out yesterday to tidy out the smaller freezer in the garage and was gloating that it might not be long before I can combine it's contents with the tall freezer and turn it off.. Wrong!! I pulled out the bottom drawer which I thought was empty only to find numerous packs of meat which I had totally forgotten I had put in there! I am a lost cause and cursing myself for not keeping up to the inventories.
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for our poorlies, sad or lonely and the MIA. Well done SO. You are braver than you think. When the hospice offered me counselling I didn't think I could face it. Take care all, be safe xx

Good morning everyone.
Off to see SIL today, not a lot else on the plan for the day. It is grey and damp here at the moment but it feels quite mild again.
Izzy - your boss is unbelievable, enjoy counting down the days to handing in your keys.
Nanny - please take things easy and look after yourself.
Dp1 - hope your little one is feeling better soon, she is a brave little girl.
SO - I hope your attendance at the bereavement group helps. Being with people with the same experiences hopefully will help you.
To everyone else who is feeling down, poorly or worried, please look after yourselves.
Take care xx11 -
Morning all. Dull here and seems to have rained overnight.
Today we're doing another 6.5 mile walk with friends but it will be followed by a pub lunch. Then DD has asked if we'd like to meet them at a Country Park tomorrow with the GCs so I'll certainly be getting my steps in.
I caught up with the last episode of the current series of Silent Witness yesterday; it's all got a bit strange there so might not bother in future. The Larder meeting was good though and I picked up on a couple of things that we should be doing differently but I might get my head snapped off for mentioning them as the lady in charge gets rather stressed over things and I'm only a volunteer.
Take care all.10 -
Morning everyone
Yesterday it rained all day - I was only as far as the bin as I spent a lot of the day in bed, still not feeling much better this morning. I did get quite a bit of my book read, it's the 3rd Richard Osman one, so I enjoyed that.
Little one was kept in hospital for another night and DD thinks they will be there tonight too. She's still struggling when they take her off oxygen, DD had taken her along to the playroom yesterday, but she couldn't be bothered and just wanted to go back to bed.
Hope everyone has a good day today - enjoy lunches out etc x
Oh, what do I do with Orzo? I think you've mentioned it Taff? I've looked in our supermarkets and never found it and then up it popped on Amazon for £1.52 a bag, so I ordered one.9 -
Dp1 I use it in Nigella's pasta risotto with peas and pancetta. It was our dear friend Nelski who recommended the recipe and I always think of her when I.make it. You can find the recipe on line.
