Hi all,
I dont have Microsoft set up for an active account. I know how to use it at work but i think i need to be connected to a network to use it at home.
Anyhow, what I would like to do is use the calender on it at home but my version doesn't have it and was wondering if anyone knows how to upgrade to use the calender, I'm not to bothered about the use of the email as i think that may get a little technical.
I've tried using the google calender, which is quite good but ideally i would like to have the wonderful little pop up reminders from outlook.
any advice will be fab.
thanks

You can set-up Outlook for either a corporate Exchange account, or a standard internet account, which gives all the full access to the calendar, and all other functions, except the network workgroup functions, most people use it like this at home.
Does it ask a question when you load Outlook? You need to set-up Microsoft Mail Internet Settings.
Start > Settings > Control Panel > Mail.
Show Profiles then add a Microsoft Outlook Internet Settings Profile and set it as the default.
However if you have Outlook Express rather than Outlook, then you are out of luck, you need Outlook for these functions, calendar, tasks etc, not Outlook Express.0 -
You can get all the reminders from gcal! It gives email, popup and (free) SMS reminders. Just create an event and edit its options. You can also set defaults globally in the settings.te audire non possum. musa sapientum fixa est in aure.0

If you follow Isofa's instructions on changing from an Outlook "Exchange" profile to an "Internet" one, you ~may~ get asked to insert the Office installation CD (as happened to me when I last did this for a friend).0
