Parking and Credit Card Issue

Hello,

Can anyone help? I went to a private function at the Prince Regents Hotel in Chigwell this evening. I paid for the car park which was £4.00 but unfortunately, my credit card was debited for two £4.00 payments. I also learnt 10 minutes later that I was eligible for free parking so did the registration for free parking and took a screen shot for evidence.

When I tried to talk to the Hotel staff for a refund, they said they had nothing to do with the parking and I had to contact Park Maven. I tried to contact Park Maven using their Whatsapp number (07418360404) and their email page (https://www.yourparkingspace.co.uk/contact-us). However, I was unable to submit my application as the application was asking for a booking ID. Unfortunately, no print out came out of the machine and it did not give me the option to enter an email address to receive an electronic receipt. Basically, I'm at a loss as there appears to be no other way I can contact Park Maven.

Do I have grounds to claim the money back from my credit card?

    Are they both actual transactions, or is one pending? You could claim the duplicate payment back (eg. the second £4), but not the first payment as that was legitimate and you authorised it, the fact that you did not need to pay is irrelevant.
