Chase asking questions - anyone else?

Options
My husband and I have both had our Chase accounts for nearly two years. We transfer money in every month from our main bank account and have savings with them. He has had questions to answer on the app over the last week about his income and how he uses his Chase account, I haven’t had this.
I wondered if they are coming up with something new and looking for target audience or if there is another reason. Just curious to see how widespread this is.

Is it not just for AML purposes?
  • You mentioned it's not his main account.
Sounds like they are wanting to know the source of the money being transferred in.
    Checks for money laundering maybe?

Yes, I had a similar survey last month.
  • KYC, that's all, They have to do at at some stage and then intermittently.

Also had this, filled it in and then it popped up again. So I filled it in again, which was the most annoying part about the whole process, only for their system to cotton on when I tried to submit that I had already given the information they needed. So I kept a screenshot saying I had given the information, just in case.
  • Not had had it yet, 2 years next month.
    It’s account 7 for me.
    Used for spending only.

Depending on exactly what the questions are it could be KYC/AML as others have already suggested or if its more generally about how his account is used it could simply be random market research to feed into product development/business case etc

My partner had it, I haven’t.
Mine has money transferred into it every month (enough to qualify for cashback at least), partners has no outside funding (well not regularly)

Just had this, if i don't fill in will stop me making payments in 60 days. They say its to validate who i am and to confirm personal details but it doesn't ask me to confirm name, email, just address which is fine and they they want to know how much i pay in and take out each money, what industry i work in and what year i started there?

they dint ask who work fir so no way they can validate and tbh i don't know what pay in/out so i see it as largely irrelevant.

considering closing it now as seems like they want lot info which isn’t to verify who i am and is probably for some profiling/ marketing stuff.

never had this from any other bank at all. I been with for a while now too so not knew customer.
