It appears the "give your money to us fake police" scam has been updated:

Please don't fall for anythinglike this folks. If your bank rings you on any pretext, thank them then put the phone down, and call them on a different line (or half an hour later ensuring that there is a dialling tone first) using the number on your bank card.
If its the real bank, they won't mind.

    The sort of vulnerable people who fall for these often make poor decisions generally (like leaving large amounts of money in an account)  It's sad they get taken advantage of.
