Share of freehold buildings insurance

Hi All,
I live in a flat in a converted Victorian house in London and there is one other flat downstairs. We are joint freeholders in the building and buy the annual buildings insurance jointly. This year for some reason the premiums have gone up hugely, last year we paid £230 for the buildings for the whole house and this year the cheapest I have been quoted is £580, Does anyone else have this problem or can anyone recommend an insurer to use who offers a more reasonable price?
Thanks, any help or guidance would be greatly aapreciated.

What type of insurance are you buying?
Normally you'd need to be buying Block insurance but some mistakenly buy Home insurance which only covers one dwelling not one building split into two dwellings.0
