Laundry cupboard flooring

  • I realise this conversation is morphing in to a discussion about adding a tumble drier, so apologies in advance. Even with a plug-in adaptor that single socket in the cupboard will be unable to run BOTH appliances at the same time, it will blow the adaptor's internal 13amp fuse. Obviously you can run them at different times, no problem.
But don't assume you can swap the single socket for a double socket, as the wiring to that point may not be up to it, causing either a fire risk or tripping-out at the "fuseboard". Get an electrician in before you do go down that route.

    Yes, good point.
The socket, together with another one under the stairs, is spurred off the garage 16a circuit.
  • Ah, sound thinking! Well done, either put the appliances on at different times (via an adaptor) or pay an electrician to upgrade the circuit there.

    All done.
I'm using plywood underneath for now.
    Thanks for the suggestions.
Need to get a water softener now as I have a new bath, shower and washing machine.
I see there's plenty of posts on these.
