Dp1 What tongue, it's in shreds from me gnawing on it. Seriously though, I'm sure my mother in law would have had a lot to complain about if she'd lived with us when Laura and Chris were little. On the whole we rub along very well.
Taff, nanny, dp1 and anyone else who needs it take it easy. I've pampered myself with face masks and read my book and I feel a new woman. Just about to go shopping so ask me when I get back.11 -
Morning all...I was up earlier honest but I got distracted by the pasta machine, when I took it out of the box the knob wouldn't turn so I've had it in pieces to fix it. Fixed it, but now I can't find a surface I can attach it to which is probably why I haven't actually used it and shoved it in the cupboard. I had some pumpkin left over and thought I'd make some ravioli. Ah well...thinking cap back on [there isn't enough room in the kitchen to make pasta and roll it out with a roller. And today is apple tart day...Better get a move on...Honestly, I'm fine, it was just one of those things, but yes Izzy, you're right, I should have sat down but I made the cake on Monday and I wanted to get it frosted before it sat there too long. And if I had waited for OH to cook I'd either have been eating carbon or nothingcamelot, hope it all goes smoothly today. nice one on sneaking out early too
TA, what a lovely thought from them. Gers, that sounds like a very productive day! Yes, it is quite warm, I keep saying to OH that I reckon we might get away with only the one load of wood this year. Swings and roundabouts after three last year. Ruby, fingers crossed they come up. WL, you got this! snoozer, it's a shame he doesn't realise that they are his children too and that childcare is just as much his responsibility as hers. Izzy, omg! the absolute bare faced cheek! what planet does this woman live on? Why on earth does she think you are invested so much in your job that you'd freebie for her for the rest of your life? I'd say I'm speechless but I'm obviously not, but flabbergasted, deifnitely! I think I'm going t have a party here for you when the days are up....SO, what Izzy said, try not to build it up to more than it actually is, you'll just be chatting, not doing public speaking
nanny, I am wagging my fingers vigorously at you. Yes, you should have done an online shop. But it's too late now so why not not even put things away and leave them for someone else? Get a strapping dgs to do it for you
dp1, hope the tablets start helping soon, its no fun at all..snoozer, glad the pamerping went wll, happy shopping
Right, I'm off to make pastry, look after yourselves all....

I’ve just spluttered tea everywhere laughing at Izzy’s bosses wife !Sorry I have been reading along but not posting, but in news I have a pre op appointment at the end of March so hopefully will have a new hip in June/July .
Silver ,I found the hospice really kind and useful after DH died ,everyone will feel like you do .Hugs10 -
Izzy sorry we must have cross posted. I too can't believe that !! Perhaps she's in training to become a comedian because making everything your fault is just plain crazy ! If she knocked on my door I'd tell her in no uncertain terms to go away !!
taff if I left DGS put it away there wouldn't be any food left 😂 and if I let Mr Fix It do it I wouldn't be able to find anything 😁
Silver Oldie I would find it daunting too but think of the meeting as an adventure and everyone is in the same boat. I bet you'll be wondering why you made yourself worry about it later.
SuffolkSue fingers crossed for a successful new hip.
TA forgot to say how lovely your DD and DGD's are to be so thoughtful.
nan xxFailure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently9 -
@Nan - get those feet up and your head down !!!!!!! 😡@Izzy - take a deep breath and then laugh. 😂 The woman is certainly a little mad.@SO - going to meet new people is always daunting, never mind when you feel fragile. They are all in the same boat and will have felt the same too. It'll only be of benefit to you.@Suffolksue - congratulations. Being pain free and mobile is a joy.@snoozer - you have the patience of a grandmother, a very patient one at that!Pool session was good, now I'm thoroughly worn out. When home I did a cotton hot wash which I'll hang up when I go upstairs. The new dressing gown I ordered the other night has arrived, it's for my emergency bag, I don't need one at home. Perhaps I need to buy slippers for the bag too, I don't wear them either.8
