Morning All
Thanks for the start nmlc, haven't had curly fries for years!
Damp and gloomy out this morning, the washing is on the pulley.
It's my friend's funeral this morning, I'll go to work first and pick DD up on the way there and go back to work after, need to be getting on with something.
Work was lovely and quiet yesterday, boss man was only in for a couple of hours so we all left early! Took another friend for a late lunch as it was her birthday - very nice too.
Hope the little one recovers quickly dp1 and you feel better too.
Glad Steve's appointment went well snoozer, shame you had a wasted journey for your windscreen.
Get well soon taff, sounds scary.
Pleased to hear you're getting out and about NRA.
DW has done it's thing and I'm heading for the shower. Take care. XX10 -
Morning folks and thanks NMLC. Grr the inbuilt alarm went off again at silly o'clock. I'm getting fed up of it now. Where's Mr Sandman, has NAN got him hidden in the wardrobe again?
As usual a good trip out yesterday. Once again a limited market set up but we did our trawl of the cs. Nothing caught my eye but DF was chuffed to bits when she spotted a brand new fascinator, complete with tags, in BHF. Just goes with the dress and accessories she has already got for her DGD's wedding in May. We enjoyed our lunch - eventually!! Short staffed both behind the bar and in the kitchen. Meanwhile we were starting to make short work of our bottle of wine! As opposed to last trips journey back our bus was very quiet thanks to half term. When I got home there was a red rose and a box of goodies for Valentine's Day in the kitchen. From DD and the girls who had been busy making heart shaped tiny sandwiches and goodies. Just perfect for a late tea after a late lunch.
It's to be a half hearted Friday Tidy today as I shall be out tomorrow. It will probably just be a lick and a promise everywhere!
Have a good day all if you can and ((HUGS)) for our poorlies, sad, worried or lonely. CAMELOT I hope the funeral goes as well as it can. I hope Dp1's DGD is soon on the mend. You too TAFF. Take it easy for a while. Take care all and be safe xx

Morning all. Despite the ongoing rain, and flood alert, the temperature is in low double figures. Very confusing for February. My only meaningful task yesterday was stewing some nearly scabby apples, something I haven't done for decades. The smell took me back to my childhood holidays when my aunt would collect all the windfall fruit, spend hours prepping them before stewing. My downstairs toilet packed up yesterday, just like the upstairs one did last year. It's stopped filling the cistern so I filled up the kitchen bowl to pour into it. The kindly neighbour who fixed the one earlier is onto it but not until Friday. This morning I've got my pool session, bag is ready by the door. 😀 I'll sort out lunch before I go.@Camelot - I hope that all goes well at the funeral. It's a sad time.@TA - what a lovely surprise from your family, such care and love is special.@NRA - really great to see you posting. Be careful outside but enjoy it.@snoozer - lovely to see you too.Hugs to all our poorlies and families, Taff, Nan, DP1 and DGD.12

Morning all
Dry here and meant to get quite warm and spring like today 😃 I am off to collect Rob and take him to work we are in the cafe today which we both enjoy, I like not having to work there iyswim and can come and go as I please !Last autumn I planted 80 spring crocus bulbs I see my neighbours ones are in full bloom but mine have not appeared yet does anyone know if they have a dormant year before they come up ? The part of the garden I put them in is a bit more shaded than the neighbours so I’m wondering if that’s why ?
Not sure about dinner tonight will go and look after this.
Taff that sound scary look after yourself xxx
Camelot hope today goes well xx
Have good days all and take care xx10 -
Morning all. Dull and damp looking outside today.
Have just paid an extra amount into my British Gas account. I knew we would use a lot of gas these few months so had built up some money, then BG went and refunded me!! Just cross I've had to do that, when I had it all organised.
Anyway, I've photocopied my documents for the Bank and will complete my bit of the form once I can put my hand on a black pen. Once that's all sorted I then have to look at doing these Charity Trust documents; all good fun
Today I'm off to a Larder meeting and am giving someone a lift so need to be up and out in a while. Have defrosted some mince so will do something with that for tonight and there's also ironing to do.
REDRUBY: last year I planted lots of Tete a Tete daffodil bulbs in pots and they all became waterlogged and rotted away because we had so much rain.
Hope everyone's day goes well.

Hi everyone, I'm just taking advantage of a quiet house. Steve is golfing, Brian has gone to London for work and the children have been taken to nursery by Laura who is coming back to conduct a zoom interview. She's been taking on more writing work to try to increase her income but it means she's often up late writing. Brian doesn't seem to understand that she needs time to work as well as him and he doesn't really share the childcare when he is here. She was asked if she wanted to go to Peru (something to do with the national drink pisco) but she turned it down, Brian said he would have gone, but then he isn't still breastfeeding! On my way back from the windscreen debacle yesterday I ended up in a huge traffic jam just a few miles from home. It turned out there was a house fire in one of the houses that border the A1 about half a mile from where we live. The air ambulance was called so I hope everyone was ok. Today I want to spend some time doing some self care, face mask and so on. Camelot, I hope the funeral goes as well as it can. dp1, I hope DGD is better today. Have a good day.11

Morning everyone I don’t know what happened yesterday I could of sworn I was on here I’m definitely loosing my marbles it’s very mild today but wet and so dark it makes everyone miserable I think . Camelot I hope the funeral goes as well as it can Coxy sorry to hear about DH my hubby was made redundant 3 times in 6 years it makes your heart sink when you hear it you can’t plan anything or save anything for fear of it happens again at least that’s how I felt TAFF yes I’m shouting at you my friend so don’t say you can’t hear get sat on your backside with your feet up and behave yourself you are always doing something and then you get a scare like that and go home and faff about with cakes behave yourself women but while you are sat down I will tell you something that will raise your blood pressure the bosses wife was in yesterday now you know this is going to be good don’t you she said when you leave just keep your shop keys then if anything happens or anyone is stuck with anything you can just pop round I said no the day I leave you will be getting the keys back she said but why it would mean us having to come down when you are only round the corner we would have to come right from the top of the bank it’s not as if we would expect you to do any work just sort out if there was a problem or anyone was stuck you would probably only be here for a minute so after I put her straight she had her hands in her hair sighing and saying I just can’t believe you are saying that we are going to be tied you are making everything a struggle for us hello I gave you 5 months notice and it’s your business 16 days get me out of there . Thinking of all the poorlies hugs to those that need them have a good day everyone whatever you are doing10

Good morning all
Thank you for the start nmlc
Just had a call from the hospice, they have a space on their bereavement café next week.
The lady who phoned was lovely and has said she will meet me and introduce me to members of the group. Feeling a bit anxious already.
Take care

Morning all, I didn't sleep well either and I can't find the Sandman, he seems to have gone AWOL. I'll put an add in the papers "Lost one Sandman, if found please return" and sign it Desperate. TA you will be the first person he visits when he returns.
I decided to go shopping this morning as I needed some everyday plates, cutlery and glasses as I've tried juggling with my old ones and haven't really got the hang of it 😂 I also did the food shopping and I was so tired before I got to the check-out that I thought I might not make it. Anyway I managed and I'm now home nursing my second coffee, the freezer goods have been put away but I yet have to finish the rest, I'll do that in a minute. I don't think anything else will get done today as I'm shattered, in hind sight perhaps I should have done an online shop 🤔
dp1 hope you and DGD are a little better today.
Camelot hope all goes as well as expected today.
taff hope you're feeling better, perhaps it was your body telling you to slow down ( pot calling the kettle black here, guilty as charged) Take it easy my lovely friend.
RedRuby I daren't plant any bulbs here as they are loved by the squirrels, do you think they could be the culprits ?
Gers I love stewed apples, save some for me.
NRA glad you got to see some different scenery, take it slowly.
Anyone seen Bella or Scarlet ? I hope they are both OK.
Take care all, hugs to anyone in need

Morning everyone
Another wet morning here. Little one was kept in hospital last night, as her oxygen levels were low, so she needed to be kept on it. DD said she was fine about it and hadn't fussed at all. She'd taken her along to the playroom for a bit ,but little one couldn't be bothered and just wanted to go back to her bed for more sleep. I haven't heard from DD yet this morning.
I feel a little bit better this morning, the antibiotics and steroids have started to kick in, but have also upset my tummy. I'm still in bed though - I'm having a very lazy day - if DD and little get home I'll offer to have little one over night so DD can get some sleep.
Thanks for the good wishes x
Camelot I hope the funeral goes well x
Snoozer enjoy your quiet day. You must have to bite your tongue sometimes x
Taff look after yourself x Hope everyone has a good day
Popping back to say to Izzy thanks for making me laugh!8
