We bought an air source heater to heat the water in an outdoor pool. Is all very basic...
We've had it ten months. I've turned it on after the winter period (it's been drained and stored correctly) and it simply does not work. Fuse changed etc.
What are my consumer rights here? It was about £700 and has lasted about 9 months!

In the first instance though, I'd contact the retailer. It's possible they'll help without the need for an inspection, but they're entitled to ask you to prove the fault. If that's the case and the report shows an inherent fault of some sort (as opposed to misuse or user-damage, for example), then you can ask the retailer for their choice of repair, replacement or partial refund. Plus the cost of the inspection and report.0 -
No, you need somebody qualified to confirm why it isn't working and whether that is due to a manufacturing defect. If it is then the supplier should either repair it or refund your purchase, less an adjustment for the use you have had our of it against its reasonably expected life. Your claim is against the retailer, not the manufacturer.
