Hi
We have sky box upstairs a panasonic and have a AV sender/receiver so my son can watch sky upstairs in his own room, which is next to ours. I brought the AV sender from Argos its called a "total control transmitter" The problem is the reception is "choppy" the screen flickers and the sound is really bad. This is the third one I have brought the other two just stopped working.

We have wireless broadband and also phones. Does anyone know of a decent version of the AV sender which will not break and give a strong signal?
But if ever I stray from the path I follow
Take me down to the English Channel
Throw me in where the water is shallow And then drag me on back to shore!
'Cos love is free and life is cheap As long as I've got me a place to sleep
Clothes on my back and some food to eat I can't ask for anything more

  • GigaAir 2424 (think I got off E-bay for £30ish): excellent picture and sound.

BUT thats as long as people aren't walking/moving in front of the InfraRed signal path  and also the person viewing it has to position their self in their room so as to not interfere with the signal.
  • have you tried changing channels so that the wireless router doesn't interfere as much
Ever get the feeling you are wasting your time?

this might be a bit of an overly complicated solution...but anyway.

i bought a one for all video sender from argos for £49 which didnt really work great even when both sender and receiver were in the same room. so after returning this i bought myself a slingbox from pc world for £99 which streams the signal over your wireless network and you can pick it up through a pc connected to the tv. you can control the box the same as if you were in the same room with no interference (except if your network is down).

you can also use the slingbox to securely and legally watch your channels at home anywhere in the world.

    for me this worked nicely

Why don't you take the RF2 feed from the back of your Sky box and cable it to your son's set? Buy a cheap magic eye and he could control the sky box as well.
A lot simpler than rubbish AV senders.
That gum you like is coming back in style.
