the Superdrive lets you play and record both dvd and cd discs,while the second one (dvd rom/cd rw combo) lets u record onto and play cd discs but only lets u play dvd discs (u can't write files onto dvd discs with this one).

Yah. You will find superdrive is definitely better than combo if you need to back up files more than 1G (such as video files).0
