hi all
ive been using the nectar app for years and saved a good few points on it, the handy 1 is th eextra bonus points on esso supreme fuel which i always use, and the esso app along with nectar amex card so i'm getting a good few points that covers my yearly amex fee of £30
the nectar app normally refreshes on a wed for me with new offers, but the past few months nothing at all from esso, just picking up the flat nectar points no extra bonus, maybe its time to look at shell
also my nectar bonus offers are normally about  20-30 on offer, this morning i got 1 , and thats for dulex paint, i dont want to buy any paint thank you
anyway thats my rant over, nectar get it sorted

  • Yes they have become quite stingy with offers, it is very hard to impossible to get a decent amount of bonus points at the moment.  I was miffed as I didn't get either of the discretionary offers for extra points before Christmas.
  • Defo noticed the same. I hope they start up the good offers again when people start shopping elsewhere. Finding Tesco the best for me at the moment with Clubcard

and the offers from sainsburys arnt even worth looking at, 1 of my offers marigold dishwashing gloves, now i live on my own ive never had them gloves in my life, and 10 bonus ponts on a loaf, sainsburys are clamping down on points and as for ther sainsburys credit card is a joke now for points, 1 point (half a penny) for £10 spent
  • I have managed (with MSE's help) to find a way of getting some extra nectar points if you have or can open a British Airways Executive Club (Avios) account.
Get the fee-free Amex credit card and collect Amex reward points, pay for your shopping with it as well as using your Nectar card/app.  when you have more than 1000 Amex points; to make your life easy, it's best to do this when you have a number of points that is divisible by 500 and 300 so 1500 is a good number.  From the Amex website (not the app) you can convert your Amex points to BA Avios in multiples of 500.  Wait a couple of days for this to go through then convert the Avios points to Nectar points, 300 Avios gets 400 Nectar points.  It's a bit clunky but it means you are boosting your Nectar points without doing anything other than your normal shopping.

My bonus points at Sainsbury's seem to be the same as always really. A few 60 point offers but mainly 10s.

Do you do much shopping instore?

We do & last week, as every other week.
    10 Nectar prices instore.
As well as 20 points offers, usually based on products we use. As well as 3x points when spending £60.. Not that, that will happen.

they might be watching, i also now have triple point offer, that will come in handy i also have a double points on my next fill with esso app and then paying with amex nectar card gets me points on my payment
  • They've started to offer a lot more discounts instore with a Nectar card, similar to the Clubcard prices in Tesco. I actually did quite well on Nectar points recently, with quite a lot of extra points on items we buy anyway - and I quite regularly get 60 points on milk. However, someone redeemed most of my points in Coventry  (a long way from where I live) at 2 am. I reported it and am apparently being sent a new card, refunded points plus some extra in compensation. It's taking some time though to come through.

And apparently some people have had much larger numbers of points nicked, by scammers who initially redeemed 1000 points (£5) and then redeemed much larger amounts. I only had £6 of points on my card to start with this time, but I reported it because I don't want to find I'm building up points for someone else to steal.
  • how did they get to steal the points??
the milk offer is a good one 60 points but its been reduced to 50
and ive been offered a extra esso bonus, so ive got a few for my next fill
