Thoughts? i think your dell link doesnt work, and the currys machine is out of stock so it doesnt matter how much it is because you cant buy it, and some of those machines are in the sub £400 band anyway.0

Hmm, Dell does seem to work, Currys was in stock (probably will be gain) and <£400 is also <£500...0 -
dell link still stuffed
The toshiba has old wi-fi technology
Depends what you want to use a laptop for.
I am more than happy with my dell but is is not small, but it does what it says on the tin - dont forget quidco to save even more money , whatever you buyWe all evolve - get on with it0 -

Nope, saying the page no longer exists on the dell site.
Yes, < 400 is also < 500, however typically if people are spending £500, they will want the best for £500, ie, they're more likely to look for a machine discounted from 600 to 500, rather than 500 to 400 if they have 500 in their pockets.
Plus there are probably 100 laptops < 500 for people to chose from. I think this is a bit of a non runner as a post tbh.0 -
I'm personally thinking of the HP 6715b GB835ET, available for £430 after cashback, from ebuyer http://www.ebuyer.com/product/128182 or dabs http://www.dabs.com/productview.aspx?Quicklinx=4JNK + quidco0

My thought is that you haven't given any criteria by which these laptops should be judged. What do you want from a laptop? It's like asking, "Which car should I buy: Ford Fiesta, Honda Jazz, Renault Clio, Toyota Yaris, (etc) ...?"
Heavy wireless broadband use, writing, media watching/downloading, bit of gaming... and freeing up study space for a nursery...0 -
The FUJITSU SIEMENS AMILO PI2515 looks pretty good to me - http://www.comet.co.uk/cometbrowse/product.do?sku=407160 It was £499 before Christmas but I still think it is going to be hard to beat spec wise.
Intel Core 2 Duo - 1.8ghz (T7100) with 2GB ram and 160GB hard drive.
The screen res could be better - only 1280x800, but I don't think you'll find a better screen res on other laptops for this price anyway.
I wouldn't buy a laptop with less than 2GB of memory - especially if you plan to run Vista which most of the laptops seem to be supplying as standard these days.0 -
I have one very similar to this and I am very pleased with it.
If you have £500 it's just come within your budget, and quidco will get you 5% back.

Actually, if you phone up you may be able to negotiate a better deal. I negotiated £10 off the price of an Ipod touch with Currys - equivilent to the cashback I'd have received via quidco and got free delivery.Behind every great man is a good womanBeside this ordinary man is a great woman£2 savings jar - now at £3.42:rotfl:0 -
