RCP parking

I need some advice about a parking ticket.
I parked in a RCP car park, sadly I did not notice it was ANPR. My fault, I should have looked at signs more.
Anyway, the machines weren't working to accept my Apple Pay.
Other people were having trouble getting the machines to accept their card
Also I couldn't use the app properly to pay, again via Apple pay as I left my cards at home!
After about 20 mins I gave up trying and drove to another car park.
I did not leave the car park during this time as I didn't want to get a ticket.
I did get a ticket due to it being ANPR and they want £100
I have appealed to POPLA, however I lost as I should have had my card on me to pay and not rely on apple pay!
I have gone back to RCP and told them I am skint and they I already have a dmp but they aren't budging and have threatened me with debt collectors and court action
I asked them for a list of payments made whilst I was in the car park and low & behold, they are all payments made over the phone with a card, no apple pay payments.
i have argued that if Apple Pay was working, I would have paid.
I even sent photos of the machines and my app not working, but still they wont budge.
They have offered me a payment plan over 6 months, but I cant even afford that on top of my DMP.
I know I need to take responsibility for not carrying my cards, but I have send them evidence that I wasn't trying to wriggle out of paying!
They are really aggressive with me atm, and I sort of want to fight this as I think they need to take some responsibility for faulty equipment.
what would you guys do?

If it were me I would carry out Plan A, a complaint to the landowner and my MP, then ignored anything and everything unless I got a letter of/before claim or a court claim.
Where did the alleged event occur? It may have cropped up here before.
If you do get a court claim, read the relevant advice written by bargepole that you will find in the sticky Announcement for NEWBIES in conjunction with the sticky template defence Announcement, then come back to this thread.I married my cousin. Stop engaging with them.
Complain to the landowner but otherwise IGNORE THE USUAL LAUGHABLE £170 DEMANDS. You know this already from reading the NEWBIES thread.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Thank you Coupon-mad.
I had read through the Newbies thread but I think my anxious mind led me to post.
