POPLA IS A SCAM

Scamexposer

If you're ever thinking of using this organisation, then avoid them like the proverbial plague. In the case of Throup v Popla held at Watford Court, the judge exposed a scam being operated by two officers of this disgusting organisation. They both were basically colluding with the parking company (ParkingEye) and ignoring all evidence. They preyed particularly on old and disabled people who scared easily and paid up as soon as they found in favour of their bossom buddies. After the case they both went to ground. Their "head of legals" advised the judge that she would go back and advise her colleagues of his decision but never did anything as far as I can see. A recorded letter was sent to the head of the organisation who never replied. The journalist working on the case advised that this wasn't at all unusual - when a scammer is confronted, they tend to sh*t themselves and run for the hills like cowards.
You can look at all of their credentials on Trustpilot - unilaterally scathing. How this vile organisation continues in existence is nothing short of incredible.

Throup v PoplaSomeone - you? - sued POPLA?! Good. What was the basis of claim, and £sum awarded?
Was the 'Head of Legal' actually saying she was from POPLA? They don't have a Head of Legal but Ombudsman Services might. ParkingEye do.
Was POPLA the Defendant, or Ombudsman Services (given POPLA is just a name)?
Can you get a transcript of the Approved Judgment please? Costs a bit.
Any link to a newspaper article yet?PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Sorry but this doesn't seem quite right.1

When asking Auntie Google about it, the only story is this one which does seem strange.1

Don't know if this is the same case but I remember a few yrs back when I was considering an appeal to POPLA reading their one star reviews on Trustpilot.
There was one on about POPLA being sued in court for their wrongful appeal decision. It said the Ombudsman represented POPLA and PE was the operator they'd favoured.
I took it to be a factual review. Had it been untrue POPLA would have flagged it and had it removed from the website.
I mentioned it in my BPA complaint but as with other issues I raised BPA's response was their usual....no comment.4 -
It has been clear for a long time that POPLA is in the hands of parking companies
They actually believe the rubbish from parking companies which court Judges do not agree with. WHO PAYS POPLA STAFF ANYWAY
We are led to believe by government that they will introduce an indepependent appeals service but with Gove in charge of levelling up and Sunak making wild statements ....... it's no wonder why Labour has a 25% lead
If we actually see the new code of practice come into force this year, we will be amazed. If it does, no doubt they will side with the biggest scam industry ever seen and be duped as they were in 20122
