TomTom 510 Not Starting

On hols at the mo and thought I'd add some POIs to the TT510 on my in-laws PC using the SD Card reader (do it often using my work laptop but this is all I have here). I've copied over a couple of POI files (OV2 and jpgs) to the map folder, ejected the card and inserted in the TT.

The device boots about 80% of the way along the bottom and then comes up with a little animation which seems to imply that it's the wrong card. Since then, I've reset the device, removed the files, reset the device again and it still won't work.

I've got a backup of the card on my PC at home but does anyone have any ideas on how I can get it going again here?

If you run chkdsk <driveletter>: at a command prompt, does it report any errors? If so, I'd probably format it, check that the size is correct (Windoze sometimes gets that worng) and then copy over the files from your backup, including any hidden files.
