@techphobe yes, your storage heaters will come on when the circuit is energised and that's when your cheap rate starts. Times vary by region and by how far the non smart meter contactor timer clocks have drifted over time. However, an E.ON installer recently told me that all their E7 smart meters now are pre-programed for 00:30 to 07:30 give or take 5-10 mins either side but I'm not sure if that is region specific or not.

My EDF times for E7 now I have a Smart Meter and IHD are the same as yours 00.30 - 07.30. Will change of course when clocks go forward. On my old meter the times were way out and came on at two times during the E7 period for some reason, they’d still be on the E7 at 10 am during summer.
