Need some advice to help my friend who has been the victim of a scam

Sorry to hear about your friend's situation. They should report the scam to authorities and secure any compromised accounts immediately.

I believe that action has already been taken.
The thread is 11 months old and the OP hasn't logged back into MSE since 18th April.

I am back because we need some advise,  my friend's case has been escalated to ombudsman and the investigator who initially worked on it provided update once every 2 months for 4 months but no update since last year October.  Does anyone know if this is normal? the average time ombudsman take to provide outcome and if there is any time limit?
