One of our TV's is unable to upgrade to ITV-X (still has the old ITV Player) so we use a Firestick.
Recently, watching a program and, after the ad break, when it goes back to the next section of the program, it just freezes. Sometimes with a spinning circle, sometimes with just a black screen.
Pressing back, play or anything else makes no difference.
I have to press the home button on the f/s remote and reload the app.
Often it will carry on playing at the correct point, occasionally it will need 'fast forwarding' to the correct place, then continues normally.
I've tried uninstalling/reinstalling as well as force stop and/or clear cache.

Any ideas?

I have always found both the old ITV Player and ITV X iffy on the Firestick and have had the same happen many times.

I found that with the old ITV player so largely stopped using it.

However I have recently been using the new ITV X apps quite a bit on two different spec Firesticks and it has worked perfectly on both.

Although they generally work well, my Firesticks (three in total but one completely failed) have not been without issues and my Fire tablet is hopeless in several respects. Personally I don't think I would buy any further Fire OS based devices.
