Vinted descriptions

Do some Vinted sellers know the difference in condition descriptions?

Twice today I’ve seen items described as ‘new without tags’ and then go on to say only worn for a few hours.

Hence why you need to read the description, at least they admit to the few hours. Not on Vinted but have known many to claim something is unworn, with tags, when clearly its been warn to an event etc.

Ultimately there is always a certain amount of discretion involved.
  • Bordering on a miracle they're honest about that in the descriptions!

A family member recently bought a dress categorised as 'very good condition', read the description, looked carefully at the photos - only to find it turned up with a very noticeable patch where it looks like it's been singed with an iron.  Zooming into the photos the edge of the patch is just about visible now she knows what to look for (rest of the patch is within a fold in the way it draped on a hanger, but very obvious when worn), but because it would cost to return it - despite it being undoubtedly the seller's fault - and it was part of a bundle that they wanted to keep the rest, they've decided they'll just have to let it go.

Infuriating, but what can you do, other than mention it in the feedback?

It’s a very commonly discussed topic on the Vinted forums on FB. I agree that new means new, not worn once or washed - I would actively avoid any seller that mis described items in their wardrobe.

    Me too.
It's annoying - and dishonest (imho).
But at least Vinted do give you pointers how to describe the condition of an item, unlike eBay.
