Humane Mouse trap not catching the mouse

Happymonday said:I had the same issue and use 2x 2p coins to weigh down the plate. Another option is to tilt the trap so that the bait tray is higher. When I first started using I caught the same mouse 3 times! I had been releasing less than 500m away. Now take for a drive.1

Mice come into my house courtesy of the cat. I am glad to be able to use humane traps to remove the little creatures from under my kitchen units, or wherever they've gone into hiding, without kitty getting a second go at using them as a pingpong ball or worse. They get released into the garden - where they much prefer to be!
I also have had humane traps fail to react to the animal inside. I don't know what the answer is, except to keep feeding the little beggar until it puts on enough weight to spring the trap! Someone else suggested adding a heavier component to the bait, and that sounds such good advice I'll be using it myself. Thank you Cherryfudge!

In addition, the OP did not ask a question seeking to debate this point. Why don't you stop posting condescending remarks and try to answer the OP's question?Case law? How about legislation?
Animal welfare act 2006
For the short story see sections 4 & 9
If you’re genuinely interested rather than just trying to make a point then grab a cuppa, and go through sections 1, 2, & 3 for more detail. In fact grab a couple of biscuits too and go through the whole thing. It makes for some really interesting reading.0
