Andriod 12. Incoming calls shown with country code

Incoming calls on my mobile (moto g30) are shown with the country code +44, the contact is not saved with the CC. The correct contact name however, is shown.
This, I think, is causing an issue via Bluetooth to my car as the number is shown, not the contact name. So I don't know whether to accept the call or not.
Any ideas how I can stop the phone displaying the CC? I've tried assisted dialling on and off and it makes no difference.

this may be how your network is presenting the numbers0

Good point, I will ask them0
-
why not add the country code +44 in your contacts0

If the phone has no problem associating the number (with country code) with the name in the phone book is it a problem with the Car settings?0

I called the network provider, they say its a handset setting.
I've changed 1 contact to have +44 but the car still shows the number, not the contact name.
I may have to ask Toyota see what they say0 -
I don't own a Toyota but my Ford has the contacts loaded into the car Sync 3 database. Maybe it's a car app setting where the issue lies.0

Have you given car permission to access contacts?Life in the slow lane0

Yes the contacts and call history are set to auto download. Although I don't see that happening, but I'm not sure what I'm supposed to see as it's never worked.
In my last car, it was stated on screen that the contacts were syncing.0 -
The solution, in my case, was to reset to default and resend contacts now incoming calls and texts are shown with name and number is preceeded with CC0
