Have they discontinued the service for your model, for you in particular? How does your stair lift report back, wifi or it's own data connection?
  • The chair is fitted in my fathers house, it does not have a modem, I have been told its own data collection which I can then use an app on my phone and monitor the movement of the chair.
The device was disconnected by them.

Hardly anything will have a modem these days. If it has "it's own data collection", that could mean it is one of the 3G option, though technical detail is very sketchy as they potentially can also connect via the resident's wifi.

Your posts are very light on detail, but by "withdrawn" do you mean "stopped working", or do you mean "this service has been withdrawn by the provider and is no longer offered"?
  • Lift installed at neighbour's house last week.  Much was made by the salesperson of the app and how it would allow her relatives to keep track of the lift and ensure it was working.  It doesn't work.  I've phoned several times to the helpline and have now been told the developers are working on it but it's not working at the moment.  It's not possible to receive alerts, the information on last usage and current status is unreliable and as safety features go it isn't meeting expectations!  I feel we were mis-sold on this point.

Furthermore, I was informed that if there was a fault they'd call the emergency contact to assist.  However, it seems that the stairlift not being on its charge point, or the user taking their finger off the button half way up/down does not count as a fault and therefore no error message/emergency call would be made.  This has me really concerned about the user's safety/well-being.  Surely a fundamental requirement would be that if the chair didn't complete a full journey in an appropriate timeline, someone would be notified?

Perhaps be careful what you wish for?

An earlier thread here on MSE complained that the engineer's call-out fee (a different though similar company, Stannah Stairlift) was £256

That was a couple of years ago so could be significantly more now.
