Need a cheap webcam. Dunno what to get? help please!!

Hi,

I want to buy a cheap webcam....£5.00-£10.00 maybe.
It's for MSN. I've used a video camera and it is a bit of a palaver. Is it best to get one with a microphone or are headsets better...my computer has a sound system fitted.

Best wishes for the festive season!

Thanks but all I get is "Server not found"

How do you do that click here thing anyway?
  • try again, my fat fingers didn't copy all the url :o

To do a clicky, put [ url=http://www.whatever the url is.com]clicky[/url]

Take the space out between the [ and the url] to give you [url= etc, etc

I've recently tried and tested several cams, many ovrer £20. Currently the range at Tesco (technica are good, as I have one) but my daughter and I bought another on Monday from Morrisons, £9.98 (I think) for webcam that either clips on screen or stands and a set of headphones included, their name is Trust.

Having seen the ease of installing the software, the quality of picture, and heard the sound, this would be MY investment if I needed to replace.

    Yippee! I'm there

Actually I'm sure I saw this on e-buyer recently for about £1.00!!!
Reviews were very mixed and people said the instructions were in Chinese. Some gave it 5stars because it worked and some gave it nil points because it didn't!
It does look good but I think it's too much of a gamble.
    Thanks again for you help.

I bought the clip usb2 one for surveillance purposes and it did not really work well, I was unhappy with the picture quality, colour range and range of brightness it could handle as it would not work from dusk till dawn and had a really limited brightness operating range. I could not knock the price, however the picture was extremely poor especially when comparing it to a logitech one.

I thought it would give a similar picture to my camera in movie mode, but was far far worse.

The infra red leds are good for night work if you are a foot or less away from the camera. It is sufficient for laptops as you are much closer to the screen.

Out of the above choice, I rather try the 5.0 meg one at under £2 more
GOOGLE it before you ask, you'll often save yourself a lot of time. ;)
