Was trying to follow usual advice of asab for holiday insurance.
But as we are not travelling for 20 months comparison sites seem to not offer dates that far in advance .
Stay sure offered quote but was ridiculous.
When do you think optimum time to buy is .
Trip is cruise to Japan if that helps

12 months before the holiday is generally the maximum time.
Until then your only potential loss is the deposit so you need to self insure for a few months for that loss which should only be a small percentage of the holiday cost.0 -
From interest, what is the ridiculous price being quoted by Staysure? Do you have pre-existing medical conditions, what are your ages? Cruise insurance is expensive compared to other because of the potential cost of getting somebody off a ship at sea if they are very sick.

3 years ago we found no-one to insure our son for a trip 18 months ahead of time and had to take the risk ourselves.0

A small number do 24 months, more do 18 months, most do 15 months.
Alternatively get an annual policy unless this really is the only trip you'll be taking in the next 18 months.1
