SMART Parking Help
I have also contacted the hotel manager and she is going to appeal to SMART parking on my behalf too.
I've just received this from SMART parking...
Thank you for your recent communication.
We can confirm that your appeal has been received and that all action has been suspended pending adjudication. We will endeavour to respond to your appeal within 35 days.
If your appeal has been received within 28 days of issue of the Parking Charge Notice (PCN) and your appeal is unsuccessful, the PCN will revert to the amount outstanding at the point of appeal and the payment terms will be extended.
And today I've had this from POPLA..
Your parking charge appeal against Smart Parking - EW.
Smart Parking - EW has now uploaded its evidence to your appeal. This will be available for you to view by clicking here
Please note: some evidence may not show immediately, if it is not currently available on your account please check back later before contacting us.
You have seven days from the date of this correspondence to provide comments on the evidence uploaded by Smart Parking - EW.
Please note that these comments must relate to the grounds of appeal you submitted when first lodging your appeal with POPLA, we do not accept new grounds of appeal or evidence at this stage
Any comments received after the period of seven days has ended will not be considered and we will progress your appeal for assessment. Therefore, if you have any issues with the evidence uploaded by Smart Parking - EW such as being unable to view it online, please contact POPLA immediately via phone - 0330 1596 126, or email - info@popla.co.uk, so that we can look to rectify this as soon as possible.
After this period has ended, we will aim to issue our decision as quickly as possible. The decision we reach is final and binding. When the decision is reached there is no further option for appeal.
What should my next move be?

You are at 'POPLA comments' stage which is already covered in the 3rd post of the NEWBIES thread.I did appeal initially and just said that we were there for a job so this was totally unlawful...I got a response saying that my claim had been denied. I then appealed again using the template from the Newbies thread.I really hope you didn't imply who was driving in that first appeal or in the POPLA appeal.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Pretty certain I didn't mention driver. Just implied that we were there to do a job.Coupon-mad said:You are at 'POPLA comments' stage which is already covered in the 3rd post of the NEWBIES thread.I did appeal initially and just said that we were there for a job so this was totally unlawful...I got a response saying that my claim had been denied. And no paying even if it's lost at POPLA (would have been impossible to lose if you'd come here first as they can't hold keepers liable). Let's hope you did it right.
But no paying either way.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Update - The hotel told me a couple of weeks ago that all charges had been dropped, however I've just had an email from POPLA confirming that my claim has been unsuccessful and I need to pay.Coupon-mad said:And no paying even if it's lost at POPLA (would have been impossible to lose if you'd come here first as they can't hold keepers liable). I'm confused as I thought it was cancelled but too late to stop POPLA I assume.0 -
POPLA can't order you to pay anything, do you have in in writing from the hotel, have you checked the not so smart website?
