Those nice people from Bank Of Scotland have sent me some credit card cheques that can used for such things as 'School and University' fees at a very generous 21.95%.
Shame on them, I think this 'loan sharking' disguised as help is just sick

This APR for all cash advances is clearly stated in their T&C:
Summary Box - Bank of Scotland One Card - 22.9%
Summary Box - Little Black Card - 21.95%0 -

** There really is no need to make your point in such an aggressive manner. This is exactly how threads get into conflict. I can see the point you are making, but i really dont think you need to do it in such a terse way. Let's try and be a little nicer to other moneysavers. Edited by Abuse Controller **0

Let's be kind to everyone! The original point was made in a humourous way, but there is a serious side to this. Like many others on this forum I shred any of these credit card cheques that come through my door, but lots of vulnerable people are caught off guard by things like this.
Remember - these credit card cheques are UNSOLICITED sources of credit with high rates of interest and fees. Personally I think there should be a law against pulling tricks like this - I know that the credit card companies are under scrutiny by parliament about this. Hopefully something will eventually get done, but don't hold your breath.0 -
I also dislike these cos of the security implications - I know I should shred everything but I get so much junk I sometimes put product offers straight in the bin, hopefully I have never done it with the checks but there is always a riskI think....0
