If it's any consolation I was paid circa £200 last year by EDF as compensation for failed meter installation appointments. Plenty of apologies but no reasons given other than "lack of resources". My meter is of the old analogue variety which was installed back in the late 80s.The deadline date for RTS switch off has been extended to 31 March 2025 so I wouldn't be anxious at present. Source for this information is on another thread which contains a link to the appropriate web page.In my case, EDF provide the best E7 tariff so I am in no hurry to change suppliers.0

dodo34 said:I have contacted edf 5 or 6 times since September asking them to replace my meter with a smart meter as the present meter will not work after 31st March and my heating will not work after then. They keep promising to arrange but not doing anything.Any IdeasThe last figure I saw (and that was only a month or so ago) - was that you are one of still c3/4 million active RTS meter users. And as the other threads on topic re extension - it seems likely that there is no viable option but for Ofgem to grant another extension - there last letter certainly raised the clear expectation they would agree - and the energy network site - already carries the 2025 date.e.g.PS What exact RTS tariff are you on with EDF ?SP were stuggling with some of their more complex offerings - and have been pleading for the extension for months - and as a share of their customer base - they have the highest proportion of customers impacted.1

They can keep extending but one day it will break and they won't be able to repair. "The valves, at Droitwich in Worcestershire, are so rare that engineers say there are fewer than 10 in the world, and the BBC has been forced to buy up the entire global supply. Each lasts anywhere between one and 10 years, and when one of the last two blows the service will go quiet."
I wonder how many they have left now.2 -
YesI had read that here before too.I blame Ofgem - it's been obvious for a long time they were way off target. At the last slope of graph of meter's remaining to be swapped I saw - it looked like another 4 or 5 years. And if IIRC the BBC deadline - is still late 2025.1
