Only manufacturer can fix Veissman boiler when under warranty

Had no heating/hot water for a week (since Wed 31 Jan). Veissman boiler still under warranty-Veissman engineer attended 5 Feb as earliest appointment, now waiting on parts from manufacturer. Veissman is only 9-5pm, Mon-Fri. We have both emergency cover and boiler/service/radiator 24/7 cover, both appear useless as warranty would be affected so at the mercy of Veissman. Will be submitting a complaint & reviewing cover. Anyone else had this experience?

    Has the 24/7 service company got the capability of repairing the Veissmann boiler and providing the parts immediately? If so, I would arrange the repair under the service contract and then write to Veismann, setting out the action you took under duress.

    If the 24/7 service company needs to call in Veissmann, has the service company agreed with Veissmann a better service level than you have under warranty?

    I would be very unhappy in your position.
    I have osteoarthritis in my hands so I speak my messages into a microphone using Dragon. Some people make "typos" but I often make "speakos".

    Sorry to hear of your woes with a Veissman boiler.

    This manufacturer was on my shortlist of 3 as a possible replacement to my 35 year old sturdy Potterson Myson boiler for which spare parts are still readily available.

    Would you mind describing what the offending spare part is? This might give a clue as to why such a part is not readily available from a Veissman stockist.

    At least with 24/7 cover you have identified at the earliest opportunity what is needed. Without this your wait to be up and running again would no doubt be considerably longer.

    Hi - I waited weeks to get a controller board for a Viessman boiler a few years back and vowed never to buy one again.....

    @Screwdriva , can you comment?  We know you're very pleased with your Viessman boiler, do you know a way to get one serviced quickly?

    The one time we experienced an issue, the service guy showed up the day after and resolved the issue. Add to that the substantial savings we've experienced since installing the V200, and pleased would be an understatement. 

    What type of Viessman boiler do you have? And where in the country are you located?
