SDLT Uninhabitable Property Claim Form.

Hello All, my brother paid the higher rate of SDLT when he purchased a derelict property (there was a tree growing up through the middle of it). A company approached him about reclaiming the SDLT, but I said I would try to claim it back for him, to save losing a chunk of it. I have searched everywhere on the government website for the form to fill in, but I cannot find it. Does anyone have any suggestions or even better a link please to the form? or even the form name? Thank you so much!!

Have you called the HMRC SDLT Helpline? Although you may have to wave goodbye to a chunk of your life to get through, they are really helpful when you do speak with someone. 0300 200 3510

There is no form to fill in.  If within 12 months of completion then the taxpayer is making an amendment to their self assessed tax return.  A quick search for “HMRC SDLT amend return” should get you started.
