Indeed. One imagines recency bias and/or deliberate performance chasing might partly explain the current popularity of SP500 funds in this forum. Since 2010 US stocks have out-returned the rest of the world stocks by 8%/year. Go back another decade and the reverse was the case by 2.5%/year (from 2003-2007 it was RoW ahead by 10%/year). Go back another decade to 1993-2003 and it's US ahead again by 7.5%/year.
