Where best to spread my savings

I have been left £100,000.00 and wonder where best to investment my money. Should I put some in an ISA and if so which are the best at the moment. Also is there a good savings account to put some money in? I'm not that bothered about having immediate access to a lot of the money but maybe some in-case of a rainy day.

The Flowchart - UKPersonalFinance Wiki is a good starting point to help identify your options....

Are you a high level tax payer or in the standard tax bracket.
How long can you invest the money for (do you have plans for it in the next 1,2,5,10 years)?
It could be a mixed strategy of investing some in stocks and shares ISA increasing the amount for a few years as your allowance allows. Keeping some in a high interest accounts for different amounts of time (until you can get it into ISA's) and then some as the emergency fund in the best easy access account you can get.
Paying into a pension could also be the right answer if you can lock it away until retirement.1 -
There is no 'one size fits all' answer. It very much depends on you and your finances, and your age. So with only very skimpy details supplied it is difficult to say anything sensible.KimboBr said:I have been left £100,000.00 and wonder where best to investment my money.
